As previously stated, Calvas is incredibly personal to me, because its a representation of who I was before Christ, and who I am with Christ. It represents my transformation through faith, love and grace.

Our Story

My husband & I met when we were just shy of 16 years old. Back then, we didn't know God the way we do now. We were young, making mistakes, and unaware of the Spirit of God that would one day guide us.

My husband grew up in a church, while I had only known of God through a few visits to church with my grandmother and the occasional stories I would hear from my mother. I grew up knowing about God, but I didn't understand His mercy, love, and power the way I do today.

In the early days of me attending Church with my now husband at the time boyfriend, I would attend mainly just to see him, to get to be able to spend time with him. We'd joke around, talk, even be on our phones while service was going on, and sometimes even trying not to fall asleep! So trust me when I say, I GET IT! God had work to do in us- and He did.

From Love Story to Faith Journey

Taking it back a little further to when my husband and I first met, he was relentless in pursuing me. He told his closest friends that I was going to be his girlfriend, and he'd even mention to them I would be the one he married! (Despite me dodging him every time he asked to meet up and his friends thinking I was a catfish.)

At the time of my husband and I becoming friends, I was going through a lot emotionally. Slowly, he became someone I could lean on. He helped walk me through heartbreak, depression and spiritual oppression I didn't even understand yet.

A year or so in, something incredible happened!

My husband went to to Florida with his family, and while on this trip, he had a dream that God told him I was the one for him, and that I would be the girl he marries and that he was to show me who my "real Spiritual Father is." At the time, I didn't realize the weight of it. But now? It's one of my favorite stories to hear him tell! And also the seed planted to my relationship with God!

Prophecy and Confirmation

Another time God spoke to us / me is when we had a guest speaker visit the church. At the end of service when we were all called to the Altar, he began to prophesy over us. (this happened before I started Calvas.) The guest Pastor knew that God told my husband I was the one for him, and he knew I knew my husband was the one for me because God revealed it to my husband who told me.

Now, for the skeptics, the 3 times I have got prophesied over, the person speaking to me has either never known me, or known my personal life to know private things that only God could know. THAT is proof to me of how I know its GOD. 

There are so many things I could and would love to share with you about the goodness of God, but I hope this helps you get an insight of who I am / we are. We are a God fearing couple who simply wants to be obedient to His call. Whether you're skeptical, hurting, unsure, or stubborn, we pray this story plants a seed in your heart.

You may not get it all right away. That's okay. Keep praying. Keep asking. Keep seeking. And when the time comes, look back and see the progress God has made in you.
